National Area IV Director Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson

Welcome to the official website of Area IV of Top Ladies of Distinction, Incorporated® (TLOD).

It is my esteemed honor to serve as Area IV Director to the committed and hard-working Top Ladies, Top Teens and Lords as we provide Continuity of Service in Action!  Area IV is TLOD’s second largest and is home to thirty-one dynamic chapters across the seven-state area of South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee.  For the first time, our Area is also home to the TLOD National President and CEO – Lady Eddie Lee Marsh of the Savannah Chapter. This is truly an historic moment for Area IV as we S.H.I.N.E.- Synergize, Harmonize, Ignite, Nurture and Empower.

Since 1967, Area IV has remained true to our mission with the implementation of TLOD’s five programmatic thrusts: Service to Youth through Top Teens of America, Community Beautification, Senior Citizens, the Status of Women and Community Partnerships. We strive to always do more in Area IV!

It is an honor to serve as National Area IV Director as our beloved TLOD approaches its 60th anniversary of providing service to youth and adults.  Thank you for visiting our website and I hope you learned more about our history and legacy.  Feel free to contact me at AreaIVDirector@gmail.com with any inquiries.

Yours in the spirit of gold, silver and pink,

Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson

Area IV TTA President John Henry Carey

Greetings Top Teens, Ladies, and Lords,

Welcome Area IV! I am Teen John Henry Carey, Area IV TTA President for 2023-2025 service year. I am excited as we journey into a new world after Covid-19 and deeply honored to be your new trailblazer.

My mission as president will focus on increasing TTA membership in each chapter, expand teen round table talks, create new strategies to impact our communities, organize monthly college preparatory workshops for teens continuing education, and promote more social interactions for chapters in the same state to keep our teens engaged. My vision for Area IV is to establish enthusiasm that every single teen leaves TTA hungry with knowledge, compassion for others, and a voice for the unspoken.

I will leave you with a quote from the late American philosopher, Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

Area IV let’s blaze our own trail!

Yours in TTA Service,

Teen John Carey

Area IV TTA President
